The Wretched of the Earth (French: Les Damnés de la Terre) is a 1961 book by the psychiatrist Frantz Fanon, in which the author provides a psychiatric and psychologic analysis of the dehumanizing effects of colonisation upon the individual and the nation, and discusses the broader social, cultural, and political implications inherent to establishing a social movement for the decolonisation of a person and of a people.
Frantz Fanon was one of the most important theorists of revolutionary struggle, colonialism, and racial difference in history and despite beign from Martinique Fanon took part in the Algerian Nationalist Movement.
